Every year, Dekeling students and teachers study some aspect of the ancient path of Lojong–mind training. In 2025, we’ll take a deep dive into the 7th Point, the last aphorisms, all of which deal with Living with Ease in a Crazy World. This is a great class for those looking to infuse daily life with mindful compassion. Click here to learn more or to register.
This time there will be
1. A brief reading to help you understand the instruction aphorism,
2. A written teaching by Lama Lekshe, and
3. A suggested homework-carrying practice online, (in all but the first class, these will be explained at the end of the previous class).
Two weeks later, you’ll meet with dharma friends on Zoom to spend 1 ½ hours in open discussion about your discoveries, challenges and learning.
This year’s text will be Training in Compassion, Zen Teachings on the Practice of Lojong, by Norman Fischer, long-time teacher at San Francisco Zen Center, founder of the Everyday Zen Foundation and author of many popular Buddhist books.
The text can be ordered on Amazon, or at your local bookstore.
