SHORT CLASS: Introduction to Lojong

February 23 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm PST

Free – $50.00

Do you like structured methods of learning? Would you like guidance in how to apply the practice of wisdom and compassion to situations in daily life? Take this two-hour overview and see if Tibetan mind-heart training—seems like a match for your practice aims.

The ancient teachings on training the heart-mind, known in Tibetan as lojong, give specific instructions on how to integrate practice into daily life as a householder in contemporary society. The lojong practices are as potent and relevant today as when they were taught in the tenth century by the master Atisha Dipankara and others. You’ll be delighted to find many contemporary commentaries written in English.

The lojong aphorisms include instruction in

  • formless meditation
  • the practice of “sending and taking” (tonglen)
  • the many rich applications of training the mind and heart in daily life.

(This class is especially designed for those brand new to lojong and it assumes little or no previous knowledge. It’s fine to take it again if you’ve had the class before. Lama Lekshe will guide this class.
