The ancient teachings on training the heart-mind, known in Tibetan as lojong, give specific instructions on how to integrate practice into daily life as a householder in contemporary society. The lojong practices are as potent and relevant today as when they were taught in the tenth century by the master Atisha Dipankara and others. You’ll be delighted to find many contemporary commentaries written in English.
The lojong aphorisms include instruction in
- formless meditation
- the practice of “sending and taking” (tonglen)
- the many rich applications of training the mind and heart in daily life.
